Uses the File System Access API to write all extension files directly into a folder you choose. No extraction needed — also links the folder so this page can push future updates directly.

Downloads a NewTab-extension.zip containing all files. Unzip it somewhere permanent, then load that folder in Chrome.

Four steps and you're done. Takes under a minute.

Download the extension files
Use "Choose Folder" above (recommended) or download the ZIP and unzip it somewhere permanent. Don't move the folder after loading it in Chrome.

Open Chrome Extensions
Navigate to the extensions management page.

Enable Developer Mode
In the top-right corner of the extensions page, toggle on Developer mode.

Load the extension
Click Load unpacked and select the folder. Open a new tab — you're done.

Stay current

Auto-Update

Link your installed extension folder once. This page reads your local manifest.json for the installed version and writes all update logs and preferences to Updates.json.

Auto-Update Stored in Updates.json. When enabled, the new tab also self-updates silently on open.
